Bear Archery Builds on the Brand's Legacy with All-New Traditional Broadheads and Quiver
by Bear ArcheryEvansville, IN (January 18, 2022) — Bear Archery is proud to announce the return of the iconic Razorhead broadhead and the addition of an all-new traditional bow quiver to the brand’s already comprehensive suite of archery equipment.
In the late 1950’s Bear Archery brought the industry the original Razorhead. It quickly became one of the most successful and widely accepted broadheads in the bowhunting community. Today, nearly 70 years later and after increasing demand from consumers, Bear has reintroduced the popular broadhead with a twist of modern technology. The all-new Razorhead VWS (Variable Wight System) returns with both single and double bevel options and features an insert system that allows bowhunters to change broadhead weight from 150gr, 175gr, 200gr, and 250gr.
Both the single and double bevel Razorhead models are constructed from high-grade stainless steel. The material was strategically selected to accommodate a large part of the traditional crowd that takes joy in resharpening and shaping their broadheads. The broadheads by themselves as a glue on point for wooden arrow shafts weigh 150gr. Where things get interesting is with Bear’s insert system. The 2022 Razorhead will ship with three different sets of inserts and three field points that match the weight of the broadheads. In conjunction with the 150gr heads or field points, the three insert sets will allow total weights of 175gr, 200gr, and 250gr. All inserts are designed to fit both aluminum and carbon arrow shafts giving bowhunters complete control over their arrow and broadhead setup.
“The Bear Razorhead remains to this day, one of the most iconic and widely used broadheads in history. For years we have been asked to bring it back.” Said Bear Archery Product Engineer, Sean Keeney. “Rather than simply bringing the broadhead back, we opted to expand and improve the broadhead’s functionality with new technology our customers are sure to appreciate.”
In addition to the Razorhead, Bear has also introduced an all-new traditional quiver. The Kodiak Quick Disconnect traditional bow quiver features a timeless look with the added convenience of a quick disconnect design for easy on and off the bow. The quick disconnect design features a snap-bracket that easily can be adjusted to fit any width traditional bow limb. The Kodiak quiver tips the scale at just over 13 ounces making it ergonomic and comfortable regardless of the traditional bow it is mounted on. The quiver can accommodate up to five arrows and comes with soft grippers for easy install or removal. The Kodiak’s hood is made from durable glass-filled nylon and sports the traditional Bear Archery logo. The hood’s foam insert is designed to hold both field points and broadheads for safe and secure transportation in the field.
“Bear remains the most iconic and widely followed traditional archery brand today. Our team works around the clock to bring the industry and our customers new products that enhance the sport and keep Fred Bear’s legacy alive.” Said Jon Lene, General Manager for Bear Archery. “The new Razorhead and Kodiak quiver are what our team felt lived up to the expectations and needs of both our dealers and loyal customers.”
Bear’s new Razorhead VWS are available in single bevel or double bevel and ship with three broadheads, three sets of variable weight inserts (nine total), and three field points. Both the single bevel and double bevel models will retail for $69.99 and will land at dealers and online later this Spring.
The Kodiak Quick Disconnect traditional arrow quiver will retail for $99.99 and will be available from Bear Archery dealers and online later this Spring.
